Brain Wave Entertainment

To the left you will see a picture of what brain waves might look like. Each wave will vary in wave length and frequency. Thus, they will exhibit varying characteristics such as color, pitch, and function. But, what are brain waves? What do brainwaves do? Why are they important?

What Are Brian Waves?

Brain waves are the result of billions of electrical impulses from neurons in our brain all communicating with each other about what’s going on in the body and it’s interaction with the world around it. There are 5 basic brain wave patterns. They are Gamma, Beta, Alpha, Theta, and Delta. Gamma have the highest in frequency with the shortest wavelength which means musically they would sound like a high-pitched flute. Delta waves have the lowest frequency and the longest wavelength which means musically the would sound like a low deep drum beat.

What Do Brain Waves Do?

Brain waves are an indication of what we are thinking, feeling, and experiencing. For example, if you are in a highly intense debate at work on how to solve an regent problem, you ate most likely emitting a high percentage of beta wave which are responsible for focus and decision making activities.

Why Are Brain Waves Important?

Science tells us what each brain wave pattern indicates and that all waves are present at any one given time. What is important to note is that given an activity, such as sleeping, usually one wave pattern tends to dominate the others. If we know this information then the question becomes can we externally and purposefully change our brain wave patterns? The answer is yes. There are several well know companies that have researched and produced products called brain wave entertainment to do just that. These products have been well researched and have a few caveats that you should be aware of. Below are a couple of links to get you started on your research into this fascinating world of brain wave entertainment.
